How to Check If Someone Blocked You Without Contacting Them

You do not need to message, call, or confront the person to confirm a block. These methods let you verify using only Instagram's own features and publicly available information.

Use a second account or ask a friend

The most reliable method: have someone else search for the account. If a friend can find and view the profile normally while you cannot, you have been blocked. If neither of you can find the account, it was deactivated or deleted. You can also log into a secondary Instagram account (if you have one) and search from there — this removes the need to involve anyone else.

Check an old DM thread

If you have an existing direct message conversation with the person, open it.
